Heartsaver® CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. This course teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills.
Guidelines are approved by the American Heart Association. **Certification is valid for 2 years.
ABOUT THE COURSE
Heartsaver® CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. This course teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills.
To make learning CPR easier, a system was devised that makes remembering it as simple as C-A-B:
- Circulation,
- Airway, and
- Breathing.
Other topics include:
- Recognition of life threatening emergencies,
- How to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and
- Other topics required for certification.
1st Aid basics are essential in order to prevent further injury and saving lives, at the same time. 1st Aid topics covered include:
- Rescuer duties,
- Victim and Rescuer Safety,
- Phoning for Help,
- Finding the Problem (*Skill You Will Demonstrate), and
- After the Emergency.
With the knowledge and skills you will learn in this course,YOU CAN SAVE A LIFE!!!! You will learn the skills of CPR & 1stAid for victims of all ages and will practice CPR & 1st Aid, in a team setting.
WHO WILL NEED TO TAKE THIS COURSE?
CPR & 1st Aid training is a course available for virtually anyone to complete and become certified. Many positions require certification in CPR & 1st Aid. Positions include:
